Everything Bagel Avocado Fries Recipe

Meet the love child of two iconic breakfasts: a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and classic avocado toast. The best parts of both come together in these everything bagel avocado fries: crispy, golden, and totally addictive. Thanks to the magic of the air fryer, you get that satisfying crunch without any deep frying.

Everything Bagel Avocado Fries

Making the crispy coating is super similar to how you’d bread chicken- there’s a light dusting of flour, a dip in beaten egg, and finally, a press into panko breadcrumbs sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning. As a result, flavor packed, crunchy avocado wedges that are healthy enough to snack on guilt free.

Pro tip: pick an avocado that’s just ripe. In order to do this, all you need to do is gently press near the stem. If it gives slightly, you’re good to go. If it’s too soft, then save it for guacamole or another dip.

Can’t find everything bagel seasoning at the store? That’s not a problem. You can just make your own! It’s easy to tweak to your taste too! Add more salt if you like it punchy or a pinch of chili flakes if you want a little heat. And if you don’t have an air fryer, don’t sweat it. You can make these avocado fries in a regular oven and still get that perfect crunch.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 Tbsp. everything bagel seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp. black and/or white sesame seeds
  • 2 large, just ripe avocados, halved, pitted, peeled, and sliced ½” thick
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 2 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. (or more) water
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Directions

Step 1

Start by setting up your breading station. Your flour into one shallow bowl, beaten eggs in another, and in a third, mix the panko with everything bagel seasoning and a few sesame seeds. Grab your avocado strips and coat each one in flour first, shaking off the excess. Next, dip them in the egg, then press them into the panko mixture until they’re fully coated. Once they’re done, set them aside on a plate and admire that crunchy potential.

Step 2

Spray your air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray or use a silicone liner. Working in batches, arrange the avocado strips in a single layer with a little space (about ¼ inch) between them. Give them a quick spray on top, then cook at 350°F for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying the second side. Keep them golden and crisp! Pro tip: wipe out any stray breading between batches so nothing burns.

Step 3

While the fries are cooking, melt your cream cheese in a small microwave-safe bowl for about 30 seconds, until smooth. Then, stir in a splash of water to get it drizzle ready. Add a little more if you want it extra pourable.

Step 4

Last but not least, drizzle that luscious cream cheese over your crispy avocado fries and serve with lime wedges on the side. At last, your snack time just got seriously elevated!
