California Turkey Club Wrap

Ingredients

  • 1 spinach tortilla wrap
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 2 ounces turkey lunch meat
  • 2 slices cooked bacon
  • 2 ounces avocado, sliced
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce

Directions

Step 1: Warm the Tortilla

First, warm the tortilla briefly in the microwave or in a dry skillet. It doesn’t need to be hot, just warm enough to make it soft and flexible. This little step makes a big difference because a warm tortilla is much easier to roll without tearing.

Step 2: Add the Spreads

Next, lay the tortilla flat and spread the mayonnaise and mustard evenly over the surface. Leave a little space around the edges so the fillings don’t squeeze out when you roll everything up.

Step 3: Layer the Fillings

After that, it’s time to pile on all the good stuff. Layer the turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato, and shredded lettuce onto the tortilla (in that order.) As you’re layering, try to keep the wetter ingredients, especially the tomato, between some of the drier ingredients. This actually helps protect the tortilla from getting soggy. If your tomatoes are particularly juicy, simply pat the slices dry with a paper towel before adding them.

Step 4: Roll the Wrap

Once all the fillings are in place, fold the sides of the tortilla inward. Then, starting from the bottom, roll the tortilla up tightly, tucking the filling in as you go. Keep the wrap snug as you roll so everything stays together. Finally, place the wrap seam side down to keep it from coming apart.

Step 5: Slice and Serve

Now, grab a sharp knife and cut the wrap in half. Serve it right away while the lettuce is crisp and the tortilla is soft and fresh.

Easy Wrap Tips

Warm the tortilla first: A few seconds of gentle heat makes the tortilla much easier to fold and roll without tearing.

Shred the lettuce: Thinly shredded lettuce spreads more evenly throughout the wrap and gives you a better bite with every mouthful.

Use a large tortilla: You’ll want plenty of room for all those delicious fillings without making the wrap so full that it’s impossible to roll.

And that’s it! Fresh, crunchy, creamy, and packed with all the classic flavors of a club sandwich, this California turkey club wrap makes an easy lunch you’ll want to come back to again and again.
