Yes, it is absolutely okay to do physical therapy while pregnant. It’s even safe to do physical therapy all the way up to a few weeks prior to your due date!
Upon scheduling your initial evaluation, please inform the staff about your pregnancy so that we may be aware and better able to assist you in any way possible.
During your initial evaluation, please inform the physical therapist about your pregnancy as well. This information will help them tailor your treatment for what is best for you and your child, as well as help set certain goals for throughout your Plan Of Care that may be applicable due to pregnancy.
Your physical therapist will also be able to create a specialized exercise program that will be safe for you to perform without any risk to yourself or your baby. The therapist may even add exercises that can be especially helpful for those experiencing pregnancy pains.
